As an active, outdoor enthusiast, boater and fisherman, artist Larry Rackley has a unique way of blending mixed media such as watercolor, ink, and pastels to create beautiful works of art. Larry's passion for painting includes boats, marine wildlife and horses. Larry spends much of his creative time, right here on the Emerald Coast at his studio in Sandestin.
Raised primarily in Alabama, Larry grew up taking fishing trips to Orange Beach. While there, he discovered a love for the coastal landscape, which has inspired much of his artwork.
After serving in the Marines for eight years, achieving the rank of Sgt. USMC, and receiving an honorable discharge, Larry devoted himself to developing a popular clothing line and pursuing his dream of painting for a living.
Philanthropy has also been an important part of Larry's life since childhood, with proceeds from his work going to support The Coastal Conservation Association (CCA), Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The Billfish Foundation.
The official poster will be given to the first 1,000 attendees on the opening day of the show, Friday, March 3rd, which is also 'Locals Day.' Local residents will be able to enter the show for the special price of just $5.00.
